THANK YOU EVERYONE for sending me a birthday video, I cried my eyes out. You all rock!
HAD A MTN DEW THIS WEEK?? Been a long time coming....
This week was MIRACULOUS. I saw so many miracles. Where do I even begin? Sister Hudson and I noticed a member at church that seems really amazing that we wanted to get to know better. We thought we found her WhatsApp number on the ward group chat, so we gave her a ring! She answered the phone but had an accent from London. The woman at church speaks Portuguese.... so we realized this was a completely different member who we've never seen. Hmmmmmm. We started talking to her and she said we could come over for dinner and we could have a good chat. SO WE DID! After exchanges on Friday, we went to her flat and she. is. AMAZING. She is the manager for the..... BURNLEY WOMENS FOOTBALL TEAM! Ya!!!! Crazy. She was seriously so cool. We got to know her and she told us all the insights and behind the scenes about Burnley. She was so excited we went there to play. She had a huge day there, where they hired a brand new coach from Liverpool, but she still made time for us to come over. After we ate, we properly got to know her better. She opened up to us saying she knows she needs to come back to church. Her heart is telling her to. It was such a real, normal life, honest conversation with her. She told us that honestly she just got in the habit of missing one Sunday, then the next, then the next. She told us she has plenty of time to come to church; it is just her own agency. She feels the desire so strongly, but she doesn't know how to get there. My heart was just full of love for her. Seeing such a successful woman who has a nice flat, nice job, strong family in the church, but wanting to find Jesus Christ again brought me so much hope. It reassured me that everyone needs the Savior. Our spirits naturally want us to "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God" but the world can be so distracting. I am so glad that God sent us to her so that we could connect to her and bring the spirit into her home that day. I love her SO much and excited for her!
Here's another story:
Took Sister Kim Ao and Tonog on an exchange and it was FILLED with miracles. I have to share some stories.
1. The night before, right when we exchanged, the first person we talked to was Nuru. She was the sweetest young adult woman and so interested in hearing more. The sisters sent me a picture of them with her at church on Sunday! Yayyy! She came!
2. The second person I talked to was a man named David on the bus. He was with his 2 year old son. I started getting to know him and guess what? He films and makes videos for his own church. I was like, "ME TOO!" It was so cool. But the story gets better! We set up a time to go to his home the next day. He gave us the street name and was really good at texting us back. When we got there the next day, we didn't know the house number and he wasn't responding so we just guessed. The first door we knocked was a sweet woman. She said no David doesn't live there. We start talking to her and it turns out SHE IS BAPTIZED! Her uncle is a very active member who helps fellowship with the sisters. She doesn't come to church anymore, so what a blessing it was to invite her again.
3. THEN we kept searching for David and knocked on some doors. We were about to knock on the next door when he texted us his house number which was the door we were at! We had a great lesson with him at the doorstep and showed him the Book of Mormon. He soaked everything in. After the lesson, his dad came out. HE WAS SO COOL. He started talking to us too and said that the Elders come around all the time, he has a Book of Mormon, used to come to church, and..... IS BAPTIZED TOO! Sister Tonog even found his member dot on Preach My Gospel. It was AWESOME. I am so excited for them to continue to teach David and bless that family.
Cheeeeeers
