Week 6- "Thats such a Jesus Move"
WazGOOOD! How in the world is it pday again. Fastest week ever! I'm committed to weekly emails so don't be sick of me yet.
This week was superrrrrr. We had so many amazing miracles and experiences! Most days we would stop and be like "wow this is such a good day! Let's keep the streak goin!!!!" Definitely still hard parts but I ain't gonna focus on those. Stupid adversary.
This week we found a man named Jennings. He is so rad. Met him in the elevator when we were taking a photo, super awkward. Oops! He said sorry I photo bombed!!! And then we started talking. Nailed it. We set up a lesson with him and had it on Saturday. He is Catholic and loves God but is struggling to find that spiritual consistency that sometimes he only feels on Sunday. So we helped him of couuuurse. We gave him a book of mormon and a reading challenge and man he was STOKED. He kept saying how eager he was to read and how eager he was to meet with him again. Pray for Jennings!!! We love him.
- Sometimes it can feel hard to feel spiritually consistent. I struggled with that before my mission. I tried my best to study my Scriptures and think of my Savior throughout the week rather than just Sunday but it was hard! Soooo we came up with a plan.
1. DESIRE (First recognize that you have a desire!!! You are trying so hard to find a desire and that's what's most important)
- My new favorite talk is called "Cast Away Therefore your Confidence" by Elder Holland. (SHOUTOUT Sister Olson, oh sister I miss you) YOU NEED TO READ. Literally changed my whole outlook and perspective as a missionary this week. It helped me recognize I do have that desire!!!
2. APPLY (Put that desire into action or else it ain't going nowhere)
3. PLAN (Schedule it out!!! What time are you most motivated to pray or read Scriptures or do service? Don't forget to do it!)
Hope this helps anyone that has the same desire as Jennings!
Also, met the coolest 85 year old lady in our ward. We call her Gwennie and she's the GOAT. She could probably run a marathon and she's 85. I love her and she is my idol.
Also, title of the email is quoted by the man the myth the legend Ethan Smith (our Bishops son) who helped fellowship a lesson we had. He just randomly pulled that out and said that it was so funny. We were talking about Christ's Ministry.
GOING ON A DIET NEXT WEEK. Pray for us thanks!!!!
Love you all so much and please reach out if there's anything or anyone I can pray for. Prayers work!!! We're so lucky to be able to chat with God, he rocks.
Email me! I miss you all and love hearing about your lives. Always remember to rely on the Lord that's why he's here!!!! Amen!
Always get that bread,
Sista Smith
